There have been several recently reported physician suicides related to litigation stress. But depression and suicide are surprisingly common in physicians.

It is well established that women physicians are more prone to depression. Medical students too are affected.   Many high achieving persons in all fields are depressed and often undertreated.  In physicians, treatment is not sought because of concerns about licensure.    But many inspirational people have suffered from, and overcome depression.

A recent article will be helpful in explaining our interest  in this related issue.
